Teensource.org Supports National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Day

California (PRWEB) May 7, 2008 -- Unplanned teen pregnancy is at the root of important public health and social issues. Despite the teen pregnancy rate being at its lowest in 30 years, 31 percent of teenage girls get pregnant at least once before age 20, and nearly half of all pregnancies are unplanned and unintended.

May is Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month, and May 7th is National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Day. On May 7, 2008, teens nationwide are asked to go to the new teen website www.StayTeen.org to take a short, scenario-based quiz. The quiz is available in both Spanish and English, and the questions revolve around different scenarios, and the choices to be made in various sexual situations. The purpose of this day is to focus on the importance of avoiding early teen pregnancy. To access the quiz, visit www.StayTeen.org or www.teensource.org.
